Nov. 16th, 2004 01:29 pmAtlantis team won't always be stranded
I REALLY don't want Atlantis and SG-1 crossing over. I like the fact that they're cut off from earth and having to survive on their own. I don't want to see Jack, Sam or Daniel in the Pegasus Galaxy. I could handle Teal'c (but I'd prefer it if it waited till asfter SG-1 was off the air), and I'd love to see Jonas exploring the city. But I don't terribly want SG-1 popping into the Pegasus Galaxy for a visit. Because I have NO doubt that should Sam visit Atlantis, something would happen and McKay would become instantly inept and wrong. Because Sam must always be right. I love Sam, she kicks ass.... I just don't love her inability to be wrong and her ability to do EVERYTHING under the sun omg! I know she's a genius, but come on. McKay is JUST as much of a genius as she is. And I don't want to see them belittle his character just because Sam is there.

Date: 2004-11-16 07:49 pm (UTC)There'd probably be a brief reversion to his old mode of behavior around her -- the crush and the being intimidated will still be there -- but he is learning to think on his feet in a way that he never used to think he could.
I think any contact would be FAR more likely to be about that than about one of them being right and the other wrong. Heck, they got past that the last time he guested on SG-1.
I don't want to see the Atlantis expedition get home right away, and certainly don't ever want the back-and-forth to be common or easy. But I don't think they necessarily have to be totally isolated forever.
