I used a miter saw today (technically yesterday, but I haven't been to bed yet, so, today)! This is of note, as I have never used one before. Needless to say, when Matt asked me "Have you ever used a miter saw before" I was thinking 'Shit! He's going to want me to use it. I don't like saws.'

But he showed me how, and I took over cutting lumber for the platform legs.

Not so much, not when you have a fear of sharp objects. I do - ever since I was trying to cut up some raw yams and the serrated knife sort of jerked and I cut my finger kind of badly.

But.... once Matt showed me how, and I took my time with it... it did become kind of fun.

That is good. A healthy respect of sharp things is teh good, but knowing how to use tools can help ya feel safer.

Hee! You should be proud. Last time I used a power tool, I drilled too slowly so the wood started to burn. *facepalm*
