I sent you an email, but I'll reiterate. This means he's a> working on the successor to the Prometheus, b> working for Hammond, since the gods know George is going to have his hands full, or c> on a TDY somewhere or transferred, probably to an SG team or to the Alpha site. Whomever the new threat was that lifted everybody in the first place needs to be studied, and, well, having been in their "care" makes the good colonel something like an expert. Good characters don't fade away, they get transferred or...well, die horribly. ;P
And if you're that upset, try hitting one of the chats that the exec producers do from time to time. Or find an email address. Or, start a petition. :)
...and hope the "die horribly" part doesn't come true. (Or if it does, give the man his close-up!)
You know, I'd love to see him in "The Bacchae" as Pentheus. It's hard to get that character sympathetic, but I think he could do it. It's also a hard play to NOT get very very wrong...
Well, not 'ours' in the official sense of the word, of course. ::laugh::
I'll refrain from further comment. ;P
That would be very interesting.... but also bad, because guest Goa'uld never last (unless, of course, it's Apophis).
Anubis has been around a good long while...of course, he's incorporeal now, but... ;P And Baal's lasted as well. Besides, I just want to see him as a villain. ;)
Aww, why refrain? Comments are fun? And really, it should be not ours in ANY sense of the word. ::grin::
Other than a serial killer who thinks he's hearing Jeanne D'arc? That wasn't SG-1, either.
Yeah, Anubis has been around for some time... but now he's an icicle on some unknown planet. ::sniffe:: They seem to bring Baal out when they need a Goa'uld villain that they HAVEN'T killed yet. ::laugh::
True - Alain was very sympathetic. Seeing him as a full blown evil bastard would be great. Hmm.... a good evil villain roles for John.... ::thinks::
Richard the Third.
Also true. But if he can't get off the planet, the poor incorporeal buggar's kinda screwed.
he'll use his Ancient powers and risk it. I mean, he'd get bored just floating there with nothing to do and no one to threaten. There aren't even any good books on that planet. Like they couldn't have tossed through last month's Readers Digest or something?
::laugh::
He wore the Baal outfit to Gatecon...2002? I think. Very fetching.
I need to start doing the same. Regularly pack a copy of Much Ado, Richard 3rd, and maybe a couple others. Then I can bust them out and ask if they'd mind reading something aloud.
No idea. I know skits have been proposed to fill gaps until the auction goes on, por ejemplo. I'd been thinking of proposing readings of Greek and/or Roman epic (in the original languages) but I doubt anyone'd go for it. I've also been pondering writing Hector's Ransom as a one-act. (Anything the tyrant of Syracuse can do, I can do better over 2000 years later. :P)

That was a sympathetic villain. I wanna see him out and out evil. That'd be fascinating.
Yeah, Anubis has been around for some time... but now he's an icicle on some unknown planet. ::sniffle::
I doubt he'll stay that way. being Frozen solid doesn't seem to do more than cause hibernation in Ancients, remember?

that, and I think it's because Joe Mallozzi likes wearing the outfit...

Very cool. The Gatecon just prior to my first, that was.

Though not a villain, I can see him as Achilles, I think. Of course, I bsee a lot of people as Achilles...
::snerk: That's cruel and unusual punishment, right there.
Can't you just imagine Anubis writing in for like "Life in These United States"? Or, better et b"Humour in Uniform"?
Very cool. The Gatecon just prior to my first, that was.
yes. I believe it was. ;) A good year, as I recall...
