I think I may have to get my right knee checked out. I don't remember if I mentioned it on LJ, but during my stage managing of Cyrano de Bergerac for Prenzie, I hit my right knee very very hard on a large wooden box. At the time it hurt immediately when it happened, but eased up some after a while, though I still limped a little. So I thought it was all right... only to have major issues the next day. I was limping and if I wanted to cross my legs I had to manually move that leg. It was kind of bad. But after a few days... it went away and I didn't think much of it.

Then that knee started aching like crazy off and on. Which has made me wonder just what the hell I did to my knee. And there's a bump type thing on the knee cap where I hit it. It's bad enough that's my trick knee, with the occasionally popping out. I had to go and whack the hell out of it too.

How long ago did it happen? Describe the bump; is it discoloured? Warm to the touch? Has it grown bigger? Is it soft and squishy or hard? How have you treated it thus far? Do you sleep with the knee elevated/straightened out? The occasional twinges could reflect changes in the weather-- my back, knees and ankle can tell you when the weather will turn-- or it could reflect minor movements you'er making without beign aware of it that increase pressure on something that got injured.

If you can bear weight on it at all times then you've probably not done major damage to ligaments or tendons, but you might have injured the cartilege and/or bone or other structures.

It happened back in spring, I think. Maybe May? The bump is just... unless I actually rub along the edge of the kneecap I don't actually notice it. It's not really visible otherwise. It's hard, feels just like the rest of the knee cap. it's no warmer than the rest of the knee, near as I can tell. Um... I iced it when it happened, and after it seemed to go away I went on like normal. I sleep either with my legs bent or straight. Try to sleep with them more straight, but I tend to curl up.

Yeah, I can bear weight on it at all times.
